Allstate roadside assistance for EVs covers a jump and a tow. It doesn’t put charge into the pack where you sit. On I-215 through Moreno Valley, that split is the whole problem. A policy that sends a hook still leaves a charging job. You still need a quoted mobile charge if you want to drive off.

What the Allstate add-on actually sends

Allstate sells roadside as an add-on run through Allstate Motor Club. The listed benefits match what a gas car would get. You get lockout help, a tire change, a jump, and a tow. Fuel delivery is on that list too, and it won’t fill a pack. Nobody on a standard Allstate roadside call brings a Level 2 plug. Confirm the current list on your own declarations page.

The 12V jump is real. The empty pack is a tow

Your EV can strand you in two different ways. The small 12V battery runs computers, locks, and screens. When that battery is dead, a jump can wake the car. Allstate’s roadside path can send someone to try that jump. If the jump doesn’t hold, the plan moves to a tow.

The high-voltage pack is what actually moves the wheels. When that pack is empty, a jump adds no range. Allstate Motor Club then arranges a tow to a shop or a plug. The truck gets you to power, not to a charged pack.

Your tier sets miles and any cap, not this page

Allstate offers more than one roadside add-on tier. Towing miles and any per-call cap change with that tier. This page couldn’t confirm one published mile limit for every Allstate EV policy. Allstate sets those figures, and your packet is the source that binds you. Check the declarations page before you need the truck. Ask what tow miles are covered, and whether a separate cap applies.

A tow still leaves you charging after you land

A hook doesn’t finish an empty-pack problem by itself. The car still has to take energy after it arrives. If they drop you at a slower Level 2 post, the session runs longer. You wait for dispatch, ride the flatbed, then sit through the charge. That stack is why a tow isn’t the same as a roadside charge. See Mobile EV charging vs a tow: which one do you actually need.

Where inland drivers actually hit this split

Warehouse rows in Fontana leave delivery vans sitting on empty packs. The same stall shows up in EV rescue around Ontario airport lots and warehouse rows. The Cajon climb on I-15 toward Victorville eats range on the way over. Details are in Out of charge on I-15 at the Cajon climb toward Victorville. I-215 through Moreno Valley and Perris produces the same empty-pack stall. So does SR-60 in Jurupa Valley, and the 91 in Corona. I-10 through Redlands and Colton is another common empty-pack stretch.

Day trips toward Big Bear Lake sit on Bear Valley Electric Service. Lake Arrowhead and Crestline sit on Southern California Edison instead. Riverside city power is Riverside Public Utilities, not Edison. Moreno Valley splits SCE and Moreno Valley Utility in newer tracts. Rancho Cucamonga splits SCE and a municipal pocket around Victoria Gardens. None of that changes Allstate’s toolkit on the shoulder. It only changes which shop or lot a dispatcher might name. Ask where they plan to take the car, and confirm the connector. Teslas use NACS, and many other EVs still need CCS or J1772. Don’t assume the drop-off is a DC fast stall.

What a quoted mobile charge does that a tow can’t

Charge Pro IE is a referral line, not a fleet. We don’t own trucks, and we don’t send employees. We match stranded drivers with independent local mobile rescue operators. The operator quotes you before any cable goes in, then bills you directly. What they bring is a 240V Level 2 source to the car. Teslas take a native NACS plug on that visit. Other brands use a CCS or J1772 adapter instead. Typical added range is 10 to 20 miles. That’s 15 to 30 minutes of charging time, never an arrival time. The sequence is in What a mobile EV charging visit actually is, and isn’t. You can also start from our mobile EV charging page. You stay with the car and leave on your own tires. That’s the fix for empty, not for a broken drivetrain. See USAA roadside and a dead EV battery: what members here should know.

Keep Allstate for flats, keys, and shop tows

Keep the Allstate add-on if it already sits on your policy. It’s the right tool for a flat, a lockout, or a mechanical shop tow. Use a quoted mobile charge when the car is fine and only empty. Those are two jobs, and you can keep both numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Does Allstate roadside assistance charge an EV on site?

The standard Allstate roadside path doesn’t charge an EV on site. For an empty pack, that path is a tow toward a plug. Confirm that with Allstate Motor Club when you place the call.

Who actually shows up on an Allstate EV roadside call?

Allstate Motor Club dispatches a contracted provider to your pin. That’s the same contractor network used for gas vehicles. Ask whether they’re sending a jump attempt or a flatbed.

What towing distance does Allstate cover for an EV?

It depends on the roadside tier on your policy. This page couldn’t confirm one mile figure that covers every Allstate plan. Call Allstate or read your declarations page for the number that binds you.

If you’re already stranded anywhere we serve in the Inland Empire, call (909) 250-2881. We’ll match you with a local operator who quotes before they start.
